Boards

Big buttons for the moments on top of the environment.

A board is a titled grid of buttons. Tap a button and its sound plays over whatever the environment is doing. Boards sit two across on a laptop and three-across-buttons on a phone.

Loading boards on the Session screen

Use the Load a board… dropdown. Load as many as you like; each panel has ▲▼ to reorder, ▾ to collapse and ✕ to unload. Four boards ship built in: Combat, Magic, Doors & Traps, Alarms & Signals.

Building a board

On the Boards screen, press + New board and name it. The library is on the right: filter by family or type what you're after; every sound has a ▶ to listen before you add it. The library includes both the one-shot pads and every random sound the environments use — so thunder, a wolf howl or a bell can be a button too.

For each button on the board you can:

  • Name it — the name on the button is yours; the sound underneath doesn't care.
  • Add a note shown under the name, for you: "swing and a miss", "the warrens wake up".
  • Tick loop — the button plays until you tap it again, instead of once. Good for a crowd, a fire, an alarm.
  • Choose takes — sounds with several recordings show "3/3 takes". Open it, listen to each, untick the ones you don't want. That button then only picks from the ones you kept. It's per button, so the same sound can use every take on one board and just your favourite on another.
  • Reorder with ▲▼, remove with ✕.

Load in Session jumps to the Session screen with the board loaded.

Editing the built-in boards

Edit them directly. Your version is saved to you under the same name and a Reset to original button appears. Duplicate makes a separate copy instead.

Playing

Every tap picks a different take at a slightly different pitch, so ten hits in a fight don't sound like a keyboard. Tapping again before a sound ends layers another on top. Esc or STOP ALL silences everything, loops included.
