Sounds & licensing

Where the library comes from and what you may do with it.

Every sound in Thaumaturgy is free to use in your games, streams and recordings. Most are public domain (CC0); a few are free-license recordings from Mixkit or Creative Commons attribution recordings, credited below.

Sources

  • Kenney.nl — the core one-shot pads (combat, doors, books, magic, signals). CC0.
  • Freesound.org — cave, dungeon, prison, outdoor and weather recordings by corkob, Electroviolence, rucisko, bassimat, Kinoton, pointlessperson1, Flamiffer and others. CC0 unless noted.
  • "Water drips in the cave HQ" by tosha73 — CC-BY 4.0; the cave-drip sets are derived from it (isolated, cleaned and re-cut).
  • Mixkit — battle, castle, tavern, weather and animal effects under the Mixkit free license (free for commercial use, no attribution required).

Clips are loudness-normalised, trimmed, and encoded as Ogg Vorbis. Beds are crossfaded into seamless loops.

Your own tracks

The "Your own tracks" section at the bottom of the Session screen loops any MP3, OGG or WAV from your device. The file never leaves your browser and isn't part of your account.
